Travis comes to us with
20+ years of swim coaching experience. He spent most of
his coaching career (17 years) with the Katy Aquatics USA Swimming
team. During his coaching tenure, he has developed swimmers
at many levels, ranging from local, state and national age
group champions to Canadian and USA Swimming Olympic Trials
qualifiers. Some accomplishments his swimmers have
achieved:

Team placed in the top 3% (65th)
out of 2,454 USA Swimming clubs in the Toyota Virtual Club
Championships for the 2006 LC season.

60+ Top 16 USA qualifying
swims.
§
Coached swimmers who received 47
USA Scholastic All-American awards.

Was awarded 4 Gulf Swimming Coach
of the Year awards -- 1996, 1997, 2001, 2005.

Coach Travis
has a degree in Economics from the University of Houston. He
is married to his wife Angela of 18 years. They have a daughter
Paige, who is an 8th grader, who spends much of her free
time riding horses.
Jeaneen M Johnston

Jeaneen began USA Swimming at the age of 8. She was a
four-year letterman at Clear Lake High School. Jeaneen earned
a full swimming scholarship to IONA College, in New York. She has
been coaching with AQUASTAR for 6 years, and plans to continue to
coach for many years to come!
Bob Tweedy

Bob
was a 4-year letterman for the University of Arizona swimming &
diving team. He began his coaching career in 1979. His coaching
experience includes summer league, USA Swimming, and high school
levels. He primarily coaches our Blue, Gold, and Senior levels. At
his "day job," he trains space station crews how to exercise in
microgravity.
Dakota Phillips

Dakota is a former STAR swimmer and is an alumnus of the Clear
Lake High School swim team, ending his high school career as most
valuable swimmer. While attending Texas Tech University for
the past several years, he led his fraternity’s intramural
swim team to top three finishes each year. As he finishes up
his education in Houston, he looks forward to sharing his knowledge
of the sport and foster a competitive spirit in those he coaches.
Melissa Prince

Melissa grew up swimming in Iowa. She
was a Junior Olympic finalist for 4 consecutive years as a
14-&-under swimmer. Melissa's family moved to Texas when
she was 14, and she began swimming for the STAR and Clear
Lake High School swim teams. She was a four-year letterman,
state qualifier, and Zones qualifier. She
also earned a scholarship for swimming to University of
Houston. Melissa has coached Pineloch Pirhanas and
Blue Marlins summer league teams. She is married to her
husband Zach, and they have 3 boys, Cameron, Josh, and Max.
They lived in North Carolina for 4 years, and have recently moved
back to Houston. Upon arrival Melissa was recruited
by her best friend Jeaneen Johnston to help shape the future

Juvencio D Bertrand

Coach Juve has been swimming since he was 10 years
old. He was a 4-year letterman at Deer Park High School, and
has swum for the Deer Park Seals and AQUASTAR. He was the
15-18 Boys 2009 Most Valuable during Short Course season.
