Lauren N Barr
Age Group Coach
Lauren is excited to be a part of the coaching staff for AQUASTAR. Lauren joined her first swim team at the age of 6 in the Houston area. She began swimming with SCAT when she was 8 years old, and joined AQUA in its inaugural year (2000) where she swam until she was 17. Lauren lettered in swimming in each of her 4 years at La Porte High School. She was named the team’s Most Valuable Swimmer in 2005, and team captain her senior year, 2007. She also swam 10 years with the Seabrook Stingray swim team. For the past five summers, Lauren has been a lifeguard and pool manager for the city of Seabrook, and has taught private swim lessons and worked with special-needs children in water safety.
Lauren holds certificates in Red Cross Lifeguarding and CPR as well as a Texas Para Professional certificate, with specialization in Autistic/Special Needs children. She currently works as a para professional in the life skills class at York Elementary in Alvin, helping her students achieve their ultimate potential.

Robert E Conova
Age Group Coach
Before moving to Texas, Rob was born and raised in southern New Jersey. He has been involved with competitive swimming since the age of five. He swam for the Brookside Swim Team for fourteen summers, the Greater Philadelphia Aquatic Club for seven years, and was a four-year varsity swimmer and two-year team captain at Pitman High School.Rob's coaching experience includes Assistant Coach for the Brookside Dolphin's summer swim team from 2007 to 2010, Assistant Coach for the Greater Philadelphia Aquatic Club from 2007-2012, Head Swim Coach at Kingsway Regional High School from 2008-2012, Head Assistant coach for the Whitman Square summer swim team in 2011, and Assistant Coach at Clear Brook High School for the 2012-2013 swim season.
Rob graduated from Rowan University in the spring of 2010 with a Bachelors of Art in Fine Art. He also has an Associates degree in Computer Graphic Arts. He currently works as a full time substitute and ISS teacher at Clear Brook High School while working on finishing his Alternative Teaching certification.

Brelan Garcia
Age Group Coach
Brelan is very excited to be coaching for Aquastar. She has been swimming since she was ten years old, starting out on the La Porte Dogfish swimteam. Brelan went on to being a four-year letterman at La Porte High School, and also was Varsity Captain her sophmore through her senior year. Brelan qualified for Region Finals all four years in high school. She has her certifications in CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguarding. Brelan also volunteer coached with her summer league team, La Porte Dogfish team, for four years.

Breckelle A Rougeou
Age Group Coach
Breckelle began swimming when she was 11 with the La Porte Dog Fish, and swam with AQUA for five years. She has her certifications in CPR, First Aid, and life guarding. She volunteer coached with the Dogfish for four years, and has taught with AQUA's Learn to Swim school. She medaled every year she swam on the Dogfish team, and made it to TAAF nationals twice, once in Colorado and again in California. Dyslexia has been a major hurdle in her life, but it has taught her to work harder for what you want.

Jared A Lara
Age Group Coach
Jared has been swimming since he was 12 years old. He joined AQUASTAR after his first summer swimming for the La Porte Dogfish. He was a four-year letterman at La Porte High School, and qualified for Regionals all four years in individual events. He was also was the boys' team captain his junior and senior years. He has been helping the Dogfish since he was 14, and is now the assistant coach for the Dogfish.

Joshua E Block
Age group coach
Josh has been swimming on a team since he was four years old. He joined the La Porte Dogfish at age five, and would later swim for AQUASTAR. He made the varsity swim team at La Porte High School his freshman year, making it to Regionals all four years. He was also a volunteer coach and lifeguard for the Dogfish. He strives to be a U.S. history teacher and a swim coach at a high school, so this is the perfect job for him.
